The Justice Innovation Circles- Kenya and Rwanda

The Justice Innovation Circle is our regional event that seeks to bring together innovators, justice leaders and policy makers to discuss opportunities in justice innovation through evidence-based practices, how to create an enabling environment for people-centred justice to thrive and to provide a platform to showcase our 20 innovators who have graduated from our our 6 week incubation programme known as the Justice Entrepreneurship School. The Justice Innovation Circles 2022 is the first event that has been hosted in three countries separately by HiiL: In Kenya, Rwanda and Somalia.

On the 16th and the 24th of September, we held the Justice Innovation Circles, The Justice Innovation Circle is our regional event that seeks to bring together innovators, justice leaders and policy makers to discuss opportunities in justice innovation through evidence-based practices, how to create an enabling environment for people-centred justice to thrive and to provide a platform to showcase our 18 innovators who have graduated from the Justice Entrepreneurship school.

In Rwanda, the Justice Innovation Circles was held at the Kigali Public Library, from 4pm. The event was graced by justice innovators, Entrepreneur Support Organisations as well as different enablers that played a key role in ensuring that the conversation on justice innovation is acted upon. Additionally, we had innovators also showcase their products to the present guests.

In Kenya, the event was held at the August 7th Memorial Gallery, a place that commemorates the events and remembers the victims of the terrorist attack that happened on August 7th 1998. We had 3 innovators pitch to the audience and after, a panel discussion on creating an enabling environment that would help justice gamechangers to scale.

JIC inspired a new generation of innovators in Kenya and Rwanda that we hope to support in the near future, as they forge their path in helping their communities. It is these new innovations that will ensure that the legal process is no longer complex, inaccessible and expensive. Whether an innovator is preventing or resolving a justice need, they are helping a business, an individual or an organisation avert a crisis that would have otherwise happened.

We would like to thank everyone who made this event a success! Click here to view some of the photos for the events.
