Accessing Legal AssistanceThrough TheWe Are More Platform!

As We Are More, our core duty is to promote justice in a free and transparent manner. Corruption in the country is currently a major hindrance in the administration of free and fair justice. Due to the rampant spread of the vice, citizens of our country many a time prefer to part with some coins whenever they break or have “apparently” broken a law. This is despite the fact that the penalty in the instance where a law has indeed been broken may be cheaper and more efficient than parting with the money in the form of corruption. One of the main contributors to the rampant spread of corruption in the dispensation of justice is the fact that most people are not well informed about the law, their rights or the sanctions involved whenever it arises. As We Are More, we seek this in on the things we seek to address. In the process, eradicate the rampant corruption vice by educating the masses on the law, common offences and defences that may be applied.

This is achieved through dispensing of pamphlets, written materials, videos, photographs among many others. Social media has equally been a useful tool in the spreading of information through our official We Are More pages. But the key to creating tangible change has been through our website (www.wearemore.co.ke) one can access legal assistance when faced with a legal dilemma.

A case example of where legal gaps often exist and where corruption is rampant are traffic offences. Many times, we as an organization receive queries through our platform from various road users regarding traffic offences. A majority of them state that they have been offered an ‘easier route’ so as to finish the matter, a route that only ends in corruption. The dilemma of not knowing the law therefore at times pushes some of the citizens to give in to the demands of finishing the case using a “fast route” which simply put is bribery. In order to improve combating such scenarios, we updated our platform to receive questions via SMS to fasten access to justice. This has helped increase the response time in receiving assistance when in such precarious positions, for road users.

We have witnessed through the queries on the platform that once an individual is assisted in knowing the extent of his liability, with regards to the traffic offence he has allegedly committed, they are able to compare the possible fine they face with the bribe being asked. Citizens become resolute in facing the wheels of justice rather than circumvent it with corruption. It all stems down to knowing your rights and getting help in the fastest possible way when in such a predicament.

In giving people this option, we believe at We Are More change is imminent and we can slay a giant that is in our culture. Let us help you resolve your legal problem by offering you legal assistance conveniently through our platform.
